For some people, it is synonymous with </strong><strong>letting go of the past!</strong></span></h2>
<p>Decluttering <em>(physically, mentally, and emotionally)</em> is an under-estimated personal growth tool! Letting go of and ‘tidying up’ whatever is preventing you from living harmoniously in the present is a valuable tool to aid in your personal growth, spiritual growth and healing.</p>
<p>The amount of clutter we have in our lives is a reflection of our mental and emotional state of mind. Decluttering refers not only to letting go of physical objects and ‘tidying up’ the physical aspects of your life, but it also refers to letting go of and resolving any emotional stress and anxiety associated with the physical things we continually collect and find challenging to let go of.</p>

<h3>Aim to let go of anything that is:</h3>
<p>1. cluttering and ‘messing up’ your life<br />
2. bringing back ‘hurtful’ memories<br />
3. causing tension or conflict in your life<br />
4. holding you back from reaching your full potential<br />
5. contributing to your anxiety and stress<br />
6. making you feel ‘crowded in’ with no room to move and grow<br />
7. stifling, smothering, and stagnating your life<br />
8. hindering you from moving forward<br />
9. letting go of no longer serves you</p>
<p>A significant aspect of decluttering is that you are consciously involved in the process of freeing yourself of anything that you realise you do not need anymore, is unnecessary to keep, and that you feel may be holding you back.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: #800080;"><strong>Every time we relive a past event in our minds, our body relives the experience too,<br />
and it impacts our hormones, muscles, organs, and nervous system.</strong></span></p>
<p>It is much more challenging to move forward unless we can let go of the past! Our destiny is calling us, but if we hold onto the ‘anchor’ of past stresses, anger, and injustices, we will struggle to move forward. It is like having a sore that is trying to heal, and we keep picking at it while wondering why it will not heal. Learn to leave it alone! Let go!</p>

<p>To give you an even better idea, some synonyms for decluttering are: dejunking, unjumbling, organising, tidying up, purging, disentangling, freeing up, and detaching. When you get the ‘junk’ out of your life, everything improves &#8211; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. For many people, decluttering at any level leads to a feeling of personal liberation!</p>
<p>The physical act of decluttering our home and/or workplace is extremely symbolic of our willingness and ability to let go, detach, and have a more organised and less cluttered life! We do this without being obsessive about the organisation of our environment or what some call ‘perfectionism’, as that comes with its own set of challenges!</p>

<p><strong>How to begin physical decluttering</strong></p>
<p>1. Start slowly. Sometimes our minds can overwhelm us by telling us the task is too big! If this is so, select a single drawer or cupboard for today and start there.<br />
2. You do not need to throw away everything! It is OK and positive to keep some sentimental items.</p>

<p>3. Aim to keep only those things that make you feel good and add to the quality of your life<br />
4. If emotions come up when you are decluttering, it is very wise to speak to a counsellor and/or friend.</p>
<h4>Questions to ask yourself when decluttering: <em>(this applies to both physical and emotional aspects of our lives):<br />
</em></h4>
<p>1. Why am I keeping it?<br />
2. Do I like it?<br />
3. Do I use it?<br />
4. How does it make me feel?<br />
5. Will I ever fix it?<br />
6. Do I really need it in my life?<br />
7. Is keeping it is holding me back from being in the present?<br />
8. Do I need more organisation in my life?</p>
<p><strong>Specifically related to ‘our story’ from the past:<br />
</strong>1. Do I need to hold on to that story from the past, and am I letting that story define who I am now?</p>
<p>2. Am I using that story as an excuse for why I behave a certain way and why I can’t achieve certain things?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>This in no way negates past traumas, as they can have a major impact on our whole way of life. </strong></span><br />
<span style="color: #800080;"><strong>It is a sign of strength to ask for help — counselling can be an important step in healing.</strong></span></p>

<p>Human beings have always ‘grown’ because some of us were willing to step into the unknown and are actually drawn to do so.</p>
<p>Long before maps, borders, or certainty, people moved — out of Africa, across land and sea — not knowing exactly what they would find. Some led. Others followed. And most simply trusted something inside them that said, <em>“There is more.”</em></p>
<p>I was partly inspired to write this after watching a five-part BBC documentary, &#8216;<strong>Human&#8217;</strong>, which explores the evolutionary story of Homo sapiens. It highlights how early humans survived only because they were willing to seek new environments out of necessity. That same instinct to survive — and to thrive — is clearly visible throughout the animal kingdom.</p>
<p>Only now, the exploration is less about geography and more about self-development and spiritual development&#8230;.being a spiritual explorer.</p>
<p>In my previous post, I explored how spiritual exploration doesn’t usually begin with beliefs or labels. It begins with a quiet feeling — a sense that the way we’ve been living, thinking, or seeing ourselves no longer quite fits. So we become seekers, seekers of a truth that has so far eluded us, but is also leading us, even ‘pulling’ us in a certain direction! <em>(See my previous post for clarification on this: <a href="https://www.chakrawisdom.com.au/signs-of-spiritual-growth/">Outward Signs of Spiritual Growth (Inner Change in Everyday Life)</a>.  </em></p>
<p data-start="252" data-end="646"><em data-start="252" data-end="644">Al</em>ong the way, for me, that exploration led me to many traditions and philosophies, such as Ascended Masters, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism, Sant Mat, Scientology, Eckankar, Spiritualism, and <strong data-start="473" data-end="493">The Urantia Book</strong>. Some held my attention for a few weeks, some for months, and others for years. In the early stages, this questioning also led me through agnostic and atheist positions. Each offered insights that shaped my understanding in different ways.</p>
<p data-start="845" data-end="996">Many spiritual traditions also suggest that the Divine is not concerned with religious identity at all, but with sincerity, inner practice, and love</p>
<p>As <strong>Charan Singh</strong> <em>(a Sant Mat Spiritual Master) </em>reminds us:<br />
<strong><span style="color: #993366;"><em>“Spirituality does not consist in knowing scriptures or reading books. It consists in knowing ourselves.”<br />
</em></span></strong></p>
<h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What Spirituality Means to Different People</strong></span></h4>

<h4>Early spirituality was simple and grounded. People respected nature, honoured ancestors, and sensed that life — and death — held meaning beyond what could be seen.</h4>
<p>In modern times, spirituality has taken many forms. For some, it centres on God or devotion, for others, philosophy, psychology, or consciousness. Many think about an afterlife. Other philosophies are more focused on how to live <em>this</em> life well.</p>
<p>But beneath all of these approaches is the same question humans have always asked:<br />
<strong>What does it mean to live wisely and truthfully, and for some, with a higher purpose?</strong></p>
<h4><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Inner Journey</span><br />
</strong></h4>
<p>At some point, many of us realise that the most challenging territory isn’t “out there”.</p>
<p>It’s inside. This is where spiritual exploration becomes real — and personal.</p>
<p>You begin to notice your reactions. Your fears. The stories you tell yourself. The ways you protect, defend, or hold on.<br />
You start asking more honest questions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Why does this affect me so strongly?  <img decoding="async" class=" wp-image-1706 alignright" src="https://www.chakrawisdom.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Eckhart-Tolle-Consciousness-Personal-Growth-300x300.jpg" alt="The Seeker" width="358" height="358" /></li>
<li>What is missing from my life?</li>
<li>What am I really afraid of?</li>
<li>Who am I – when I really think about it?</li>
<li>What am I searching for?</li>
<li>What is definitely true?</li>
</ul>
<p>This kind of exploration isn’t always comfortable. In fact, it often brings uncertainty before it brings clarity.</p>
<p>Which is why Susan Jeffers’ book title still resonates: <em>“Feel the fear and do it anyway.”</em></p>
<p>Many philosophies say:<span style="color: #993366;"><em><br />
</em></span><strong><span style="color: #993366;"><em>We must reach Self-Realisation before we can reach God-Realisation.</em></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Self-Realisation Comes First</span></strong></p>
<p>This is an important point — and one that often gets missed.<br />
Before spiritual realisation comes self-realisation. A spiritual explorer is someone drawn to inner development and self-realisation.<br />
Not in a grand or mystical sense — but in a very human one<em>.<br />

<p><strong>It’s the gradual honesty of seeing yourself clearly:</strong><br />
1. noticing your conditioning<br />
2. understanding your emotional patterns<br />
3. recognising ego habits<br />
4. becoming aware of unconscious reactions<br />
5. acknowledging and accepting that we are not meant to be perfect<br />
6. responding to situations rather than reacting<br />
7. less judgemental of others</p>
<p>Without this, spirituality can easily become something we <em>talk about</em> rather than something we <em>live</em>.</p>
<p>As <strong>Krishnamurti</strong> said: <strong><span style="color: #993366;"><em>“Self-knowledge is the beginning of wisdom.”</em></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Charan Singh</strong> <em>(a Sant Mat Master) </em>echoed this same truth:<br />
<strong><span style="color: #993366;"><em>“Unless we understand ourselves, we cannot understand anything higher.”</em></span></strong></p>

</strong>A spiritual explorer isn’t someone with all the answers. They are someone willing to stay curious and search for a Truth that genuinely resonates with them.</h4>

■ you respond to stress and situations<br />
■ you treat people<br />
■ your mind behaves when life gets difficult<br />
■ safe you feel inside yourself<br />
■ much noise, business, stress, you actually need to feel okay<br />
■ you can let go of the negative effects of past grievances, hurts, pains and angers<br />
■ you can let go of regret<br />
■ you respect yourself regarding your eating habits, exercise, and restricting unprescribed drugs.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800080;">AND YOU ARE NOT FANATICAL ABOUT ANY OF THIS!</span></strong></p>
<p>This change can be subtle, and it’s rarely dramatic and initially can be rarely visible to others. And most of the time, it’s not even something you consciously notice at first.</p>
<p>It just starts to feel like: Something is changing… and I’m not fighting life the way I used to<em>.</em></p>
<p>These signs aren’t things you try to create. They’re <strong>natural byproducts</strong> of inner development.</p>
<p>They happen quietly. Organically, and seemingly without effort <em>(although ‘behind the scenes’, you have to put in the ‘work’).</em></p>
<p>Across many traditions, the principle remains the same: <strong>&#8216;we reap what we sow</strong>&#8216;.</p>
<p><strong>As Rumi said so simply:<br />
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”</strong></p>

<li><strong>Desire for truth over entertainment</strong><br />
Genuine insight starts to matter more than passing fad.<br />
Meaning matters more than just acting out a part or doing your duty.</li>
<li><strong>Enjoyment of solitude without loneliness</strong><br />
Being alone no longer feels like something is missing.<br />
It feels like rest.</li>

Stress cycles/thoughts aren’t as intense or as long-lasting.<br />
Overthinking doesn’t spiral the way it used to.</li>
<li><strong>Gaps between thoughts appear.</strong><br />
You experience moments of quiet in your own mind — even during busy days.</li>
<li><strong>Less compulsive thinking and catastrophising</strong><br />
The mind stops constantly predicting disaster.</li>

<p>Spiritual growth isn’t mystical or dramatic, it’s:</p>

<li>ego softening</li>
<li>psychological coherence</li>
<li>inner safety</li>
<li>identity maturity</li>

<p>It’s not escape from life — it’s <strong>clarity within life</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Rumi put it perfectly: “Why are you so busy with this or that or good or bad — pay attention to how things blend.”</strong></p>
<h3><strong>Final Reflection</strong></h3>
<p>Spiritual growth isn’t loud. It isn’t dramatic. It isn’t performative. It isn’t something you announce.<br />
It’s quiet, Subtle, Stabilising, and Grounding.</p>
<p><strong>It makes you:</strong><br />
■ calmer, not louder<br />
■ softer, not sharper<br />
■ deeper, not busier<br />
■ simpler, not more complex<br />
■ freer, not more complicated</p>
<p>You don’t become more “spiritual”, you become more <strong>human</strong>.</p>

<p>Karma is often described simply as <em>cause and effect</em>, but spiritually it goes far deeper than that. Every thought, word, and action sets something in motion — not just in our outer life, but in our inner life as well. In every tradition, karma is really about <strong>consequences</strong>: how our choices shape our present reality and our future unfolding.</p>

<p>Buddhism teaches that actions leave “imprints” on the mind that ripen later. Across cultures, the message is the same: <strong>your life is shaped by the seeds you plant — knowingly or unknowingly.</strong></p>
<p>In Sant Mat philosophy, this universal law is described with great clarity through <strong>three categories of karma</strong>: <strong>Sanchit</strong>, <strong>Prarabdh</strong>, and <strong>Kriyaman</strong>. Together they explain why we are born where we are, why certain events unfold, and why spiritual growth is ultimately a journey of unwinding and rising above the karmic web</p>
<ol>
<li><strong> Sanchit Karma — The Accumulated Storehouse of Karmas</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>Sanchit karma is like the entire field of seeds we have sown throughout countless lifetimes.<br />
Nothing is lost; every moment of intention, every action, every thought leaves a subtle impression on the soul.</p>
<ul>
<li>This karma is <strong>dormant</strong>, not yet ready to manifest.</li>
<li>It is vast, stretching back over many incarnations.</li>
<li>It forms the <em>reservoir</em> from which the karmas of any given lifetime are selected.</li>
</ul>
<p>Sanchit karma are the library of your past experiences — everything you’ve ever done or caused, waiting quietly in storage.</p>
<p>In other spiritual traditions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Buddhism refers to this as <strong>the karmic storehouse consciousness (alaya vijnana)</strong>.</li>
<li>In Christianity, it echoes the idea that God “remembers the heart and deeds,” even across a lifetime.</li>
</ul>

<h3><strong> Prarabdh Karma — The Karma Playing Out Now</strong></h3>
</li>
</ol>

<p>It includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>The family you are born into</li>
<li>Your body, health, and temperament</li>
<li>Major relationships</li>
<li>Turning points</li>
<li>Opportunities and challenges</li>
<li>The general blueprint of your life</li>
</ul>
<p>This is the karma that has already “sprouted.” It is <strong>in motion</strong>, and according to Sant Mat, it must be lived out — like an arrow already released from a bow.</p>
<p>You cannot erase Prarabdh, <strong>but you <em>can</em> change the way you respond to it</strong>. A spiritual life helps you rise <strong>above</strong> its effects, even if the events themselves must unfold.</p>
<p>Christianity has a similar understanding:</p>
<p>“You will by no means get out until you have paid the last penny.”<br />
This reflects the idea that certain debts must be settled before moving on.</p>

<p>Kriyaman karma determines:</p>

<li>Whether you create more chains or loosen the ones you already carry</li>
</ul>
<p>It is here that the principle from Christianity rings loudest:<br />
<strong>“You reap what you sow.”</strong><br />
Your choices today become your experiences tomorrow.</p>
<p>This is also the idea behind the Buddhist teaching:<br />
<strong>“Intention is karma.</strong></p>
<h3><strong>How the Three Types of Karma Work Together</strong></h3>
<p>A simple way to understand it:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Sanchit</strong> = the seeds in storage</li>
<li><strong>Prarabdh</strong> = the seeds already sprouting this lifetime</li>
<li><strong>Kriyaman</strong> = the seeds you plant today</li>
</ul>

<p>A person may have thousands of karmic seeds stored (Sanchit), only a selected bundle will be lived out this lifetime (Prarabdh), and each choice creates brand-new seeds (Kriyaman).</p>
<h4><strong>Karma as a Living System of Accountability</strong></h4>
<p>Karma is not punishment — it is <strong>education</strong>.<br />
It’s the universe showing us the consequences of our inner state.</p>
<p>If we act with anger, we experience suffering.<br />
If we act with love, we experience clarity and expansion.</p>
<p>Karma is life’s way of saying:<br />
<strong>“Here is what this choice creates. Do you want more of it?”</strong></p>
<h4><strong>Transcending Karma in Sant Mat</strong></h4>
<p>In Sant Mat, the goal is not to endlessly accumulate better karma, but to <strong>go beyond the entire karmic cycle</strong>.</p>
<h6><span style="font-size: 12pt;">How?</span></h6>
<p><strong>Through Surat Shabd Yoga</strong>, the practice of withdrawing attention inward and connecting with the inner Sound Current (Shabd). When the soul rises above the physical and subtle realms, it rises above the field where karma operates. <p>Under the guidance of a true living Master:</p>
<ul>
<li>Sanchit karma is gradually burned away</li>

<li>The soul slowly separates from the karmic machine, just as a bird rises above a storm</li>
</ul>
<p>The ultimate goal is liberation — returning to the soul’s divine origin where karma no longer applies.</p>
<h4><strong>Karma as Consequences in Motion</strong></h4>
<p>In daily life, karma is very simple:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your thoughts create your mindset.</li>
<li>Your words influence your relationships.</li>
<li>Your actions carve out your path.</li>
<li>Every choice leaves a footprint.</li>
</ul>
<p>Karma is not “later.” Karma is now.</p>
<p>It’s the subtle shaping of your life moment by moment — consequences in continuous motion.</p>
<p>And the most empowering truth is this:</p>
<p><strong>You can’t change the past, but you can absolutely change what you plant today.</strong><br />
And what you plant today transforms your tomorrow.</p>

These energy bodies vibrate at their own frequency and interweave with each other. There are 7 energy bodies, starting from the physical body and going outwards: Physical, Etheric, Astral <em>(also known as Emotional),</em> Mental, Causal <em>(also known as Spiritual), </em>Monadic and Divine.</p>
<p>Underlying and supporting every activity of the physical body <em>(e.g., mind, muscular, skeletal, immune, organ, and nervous systems), </em>the energy system forms a matrix or blueprint which our body uses to sustain as well as heal itself. This energy has been given various names in different cultures, for example, Prana, Chi, Life Force and Vital Force. This energy connects throughout the body via channels called nadis, which feed into the 7 main energy centres, commonly called the Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown Chakras. These 7 main chakras are linked up and down the spine by 3 major intertwining energy channels called nadis: <em>the ida, pingala and sushumna</em>, <em>(see diagram below). </em>There are also thousands of minor chakras and thousands of secondary nadis throughout the body.</p>
<p>These chakras permeate through all the energy bodies, not just the physical body&amp; are focal points for the receiving, accumulation, and distribution of the various forms of subtle energies from within and around us, enabling them to be utilised by the body. ‘Chakra&#8217; is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel&#8217;, and they are in constant rotation. This rotation helps activate the energy in the chakra and helps facilitate its distribution to the body parts associated with it. When a specific chakra is not functioning optimally, the energy flow is ‘disturbed’, and the organ systems and body parts served by that chakra will be affected. This disturbance will show up as symptoms. Our health is ultimately determined by the energy flowing harmoniously through our Chakra system, which can become sub-optimal for many reasons.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #993366;">How to Encourage Chakra Awareness</span></h2>
<p>All our energy systems benefit from the positive effects of healthy food, exercise, sunshine, water, a healthy environment, relaxation, meditation, and sleep, but most importantly, positive thoughts, attitudes, and a connection with a higher power – some call it Spirit, the Divine or God. Optimum chakra energy flow is significantly diminished by negative, limiting, or stressful thought patterns, especially holding on to past resentments, anger, and guilt, as well as excessive worrying in the present moment or about the future. Our Chakra system gives us ideal ‘observation points’ for ‘looking into’ ourselves and observing what ‘lessons’ are here for us to learn right now, <em>(i.e., we will get certain symptoms in certain areas of our body).</em></p>

<p>Any time you have symptoms, it is wise to ask yourself, &#8220;What lesson <em>(or lessons) </em>is my body ‘hinting’ I could learn right now?” If we are taking medicines, we can ask ourselves, &#8220;What part did I play in needing these medicines?&#8221; We do not do this to make ourselves feel guilty, but rather to take responsibility for where we find ourselves in life right now, and to gain insights into ourselves. Sometimes we may need to take medicines! When this is so, you can do your best to listen to your body and maintain a balanced lifestyle, which in many cases can lead to you requiring less medicine and/or recovering more quickly.</p>
<p>Some symptoms can also be of genetic, environmental, or traumatic origin. When this is the case, you can do your best to listen to your body and observe your thought processes as a way of gaining awareness and understanding of yourself. This can assist you in maintaining the best health possible in your circumstances.</p>
<p>Many therapies and activities can help balance our chakra energy system and encourage the body and mind to heal, as well as facilitate clearer self-awareness for positive change. Many therapies also seek and address the underlying causes of our symptoms so that we can learn the &#8216;lessons&#8217;, which usually revolve around changing our outdated and/or unbalanced thought processes <em>(regarding the past, present, and</em> <em>future)</em> and improving our lifestyle choices.</p>

<p>When you eat nourishing foods, stay active, sleep well, and manage stress, you give your immune system the tools it needs to thrive. Vitamins like C, D, and zinc, healthy fats, and antioxidants all support immune cell activity, helping your body recognise and eliminate harmful invaders before they cause illness. And even if illness comes, you will have a stronger immune system capable of optimally helping you recover far more quickly.</p>
<p>Regular exercise, including walking, various sports, or yoga, improves circulation, helps clear toxins, and activates your lymphatic system, which plays a key role in immune defence. Whereas a poor diet, lack of movement, and chronic stress can lead to inflammation, digestive issues, and suppressed immunity, making you more prone to infections and fatigue, as well as taking longer to recover.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Your Chakras Reflect Your State of Health</strong></span></h3>
<p>According to chakra philosophy, the body’s energy flows through seven main energy centres, or <strong>chakras</strong>, each linked to different organs, emotions, and areas of life. When you are in good physical health, these energy centres tend to function more smoothly.</p>

<ul>
<li><strong>Root Chakra (Muladhara)</strong>: This chakra governs your sense of safety, stability, and physical survival. Poor health can create fear and insecurity, while a strong body—grounded by proper rest, nutrition, and exercise—supports a balanced root chakra.</li>
<li><strong>Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)</strong>: Connected to your digestive system and personal power. When you eat well and maintain digestive health, this chakra remains strong, boosting your confidence and vitality.</li>
<li><strong>Heart Chakra (Anahata)</strong>: This centre governs love, connection, and emotional healing. This chakra is associated with heart, lung, and shoulder health.</li>
<li><strong>Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)</strong>: Tied to the respiratory system and communication. Smoking, poor breathing, and stress can constrict this energy centre. <p>In this way, <strong>physical health and chakra health are deeply interwoven</strong>. When the body is nourished and well cared for, energy flows more freely. The reverse is also true—when chakras are not functioning optimally because of stress, emotional suppression, or fatigue, the body will reflect this through physical, mental and /or emotional symptoms.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Stress, Immunity, and Energy Imbalances</strong></span></h3>
<p>One of the biggest threats to both physical and energetic health is <strong>chronic stress,</strong> as ongoing stress floods the body with cortisol, can suppress immune function, raise blood pressure, and impair digestion.</p>
<p>Energetically, when we are not in balance, we are far less able to connect spiritually with our inner guidance, peace, and clarity.</p>
<p>When we prioritise health holistically—by eating well, moving regularly, meditating, journaling, and connecting to nature—we allow the body to restore balance. This supports <strong>all seven chakras</strong>, which improves mental clarity and helps the immune system function with ease.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Healthy People Still Get Sick… But Not as Often</strong></span></h3>

Everyone gets sick from time to time. But healthy people tend to recover faster, have milder symptoms, and are less likely to develop long-term complications. Their bodies are simply better equipped to handle challenges.</p>
<p>Similarly, chakra imbalances will happen, especially during times of emotional upheaval. But someone who regularly practices ‘<strong>energy hygiene’,</strong>  like meditation, being in nature, and yoga, will usually restore harmony much more quickly.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>The Big Picture: Wellness as a Holistic Protection</strong></span></h3>
<p>So yes—the statement is true: <strong><em>The healthier you are, the less sick you get</em>. But</strong> it goes deeper than just immunity. <strong>True health is the integration of physical vitality, emotional clarity, and energetic balance</strong>. When all of these are in harmony, we become more resilient in body, mind, and spirit.</p>
<p>If you want to stay well, start by caring for your foundation. Eat vibrant foods that nourish your cells <em>and</em> chakras. Move your body to stimulate both blood and energy flow (chakra balance). Breathe consciously. Rest deeply. Express your truth. <p>When we talk about health, we often focus on the body, but mental health is essential in order to travel through life with as much grace and ease as possible. Your lifestyle choices do not just impact your physical immune system; they also shape your emotional well-being, focus, and resilience. A nutritious eating plan supports brain chemistry, helping regulate mood and reduce anxiety. Regular movement releases feel-good endorphins, while quality sleep restores both body and mind.</p>
<p>Chronic stress, poor sleep, or lack of physical activity can lead to mental fatigue, irritability, and even depression. On the other hand, balanced routines, like eating well, staying active, and taking time to rest and reflect, help regulate hormones like serotonin and cortisol, which play a direct role in mood stability.</p>
<p>Mindfulness practices such as meditation, journaling, or time in nature help reduce mental clutter, ease anxiety, and boost emotional clarity. Social interaction and having a sense of purpose or spiritual connection can also strengthen mental resilience.</p>
<p>In short, a healthy lifestyle does not just keep your body strong; it creates a more stable, calm, and positive inner life. When your mind is well cared for, your entire system thrives. Physical and mental health are two sides of the same coin, and both are essential for lasting wellness.</p>
<p>Just to be clear. I would not want to be without many of the medicines and medical procedures we now have available. Many people would not be alive if it were not for modern medical practices! We are blessed to have them. Ideally, when we need medicine, we take it and at the same time we ask ourselves, &#8220;What part, <em>(if any) </em>did I play in needing the medicine in the first place?&#8221; I have seen many people either reduce the number of medications they take, or the dosage of their medications simply by adopting a healthier lifestyle and a healthier attitude to life.</p>
<p>Genetics also plays a big part in all our lives. We are all born with hereditary genes that can potentially lead to good health or illness. Modern research shows that it is the environment, especially within our body, <em>(epigenetics</em><em>) </em>that determines if it is the healthy genes or the unhealthy ones that will get the upper hand and are therefore be encouraged to express themselves! <h1>The Chakra System as a Diagnostic and Transformational Tool</h1>
<p>The chakra system outlined investigates the seven main energy centers and is presented as both a ‘diagnostic map’ for health issues and a blueprint for personal transformation.</p>
<p>Each chakra corresponds to specific physical organs, emotional patterns, and psychological traits. Chakra imbalances manifest in both symptoms (illness, fatigue, emotional pain, a compromised immune system) and behaviours (fear, self-doubt, anger, frustration).</p>
<p>Consistent wellbeing and healing involve consciously engaging with the chakra through affirmations, lifestyle changes, meditation, and emotional awareness.</p>

<h3>The Power of Mindset and Thought</h3>
<p>The book emphasises that thoughts have energetic and chemical effects on the body. You are encouraged to become the observer of your thoughts, recognising that not all thoughts are true or helpful!</p>
<p>The concept of the “Good Wolf and Bad Wolf” illustrates how positive vs. negative thinking affects health and wellbeing. Through mindfulness and meditation, individuals can interrupt negative patterns and feed the “Good Wolf,” — which encourages healing and resilience.</p>

<strong><span style="color: #993366;">2 wolves, a good wolf, and a bad wolf,&#8221;</span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #993366;">and the little boy asks him, “Which one wins?”</span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #993366;">and the guru says, “The one you feed the most.”</span></strong></p>
<h3>Affirmations as a Healing Tool</h3>
<p>Positive affirmations are incorporated into the book’s healing methodology and each chakra has 7 affirmations associated with it, addressing the specific emotional and physical imbalances of each chakra.</p>
<p>Affirmations work by rewiring the subconscious mind, replacing limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging thoughts with constructive, empowering ones. Regular, conscious repetition is recommended — supported by writing, speaking, and listening to affirmations daily.</p>
<h3>Personal Responsibility and Self-Inquiry</h3>

<p>A key theme is taking personal responsibility for one’s health, decisions, and growth. Rather than seeing illness or life difficulties as random, you are asked to reflect: “What is my body or situation trying to teach me?”</p>
<p>Several self-assessments will help you uncover their internal blocks, recurring thought patterns, or unresolved traumas.</p>
<h2>Decluttering the Inner and Outer World</h2>
<p>Decluttering is both literal and metaphorical: clearing physical space, outdated thoughts, toxic relationships, and emotional baggage. Letting go is a pathway to clarity, vitality, and spiritual expansion.</p>
<p>Practical strategies are offered for making room, physically and emotionally which automatically encourages growth and healing.</p>
<h2>Mindfulness &amp; Meditation</h2>
<p>Mindfulness is presented as the foundation for noticing, understanding, and transforming inner dialogue.</p>
<p>Meditation is described as a core practice for balancing chakras, calming the nervous system, and gaining insight. Techniques like breath awareness and mantra meditation are outlined, with an emphasis on starting small and staying consistent.</p>

Emotional patterns (e.g., guilt, fear, shame) are directly linked to specific chakras and illnesses and by healing at the emotional or energetic level, the body often responds with improved health or reduced need for medications.</p>

<p>A strong message of self-love and acceptance runs throughout and you are encouraged to set boundaries, say no when necessary, and stop rescuing others at your expense.</p>
<p>The idea is to move from self-sacrifice to empowered support, for self and others. From being a rescuer to being a mentor!</p>
<h3>Spiritual Connection</h3>
<p>The upper chakras <em>(Third Eye and Crown) </em>deal with intuition, divine connection, and higher purpose.</p>
<p>You are invited to see themselves as more than the body and mind, as spiritual beings in a physical experience. Trusting in a “Higher Self” or universal intelligence is essential to inner peace and guidance.</p>

<p>The book offers an integrated toolkit: self-assessments, affirmations, meditations, chakra education, and body-mind links.</p>

	<h2><strong>Chakras-Understanding them:</strong></h2>
<p>The Chakra System &#8211; To appreciate the language of the chakras, we must first understand that as well as being physical in nature, our body also has various energetic bodies occupying the same space and emanating out from it <em>(the Aura) </em>for metres! There are 7 energy bodies <em>(see</em> <em>image below),</em> in total, each vibrating at its own frequency.</p>
<p>These energy bodies interweave with one another, starting from the physical body, and going outwards. The 7 ‘bodies’ are Physical, Etheric, Astral <em>(also known as Emotional),</em> Mental, Causal <em>(also known as</em> <em>Spiritual),</em> Monadic and Divine. Underlying and supporting every activity of the physical body <em>(e.g.</em> <em>muscular, skeletal, immune, organ, brain, and nervous system),</em> the energy system forms a matrix or blueprint which the body uses to sustain as well as heal itself.</p>

<p>This energy has been given various names in different cultures, for example, Prana, Chi, Ki, Life Force and Vital Force. This energy connects throughout the body via channels called nadis, which feed into the 7 main energy centres, commonly called the Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown chakras.</p>

<p>Having been a health and wellbeing practitioner for the last 43 years and seen over 30,000 clients, I realise that the most important factor in determining someone’s health is their attitude to themselves, their attitude to life, and their response<em> (or reaction)</em> to life’s challenges.</p>
<p>Another word for attitude is ‘mindset’. Our mindset is fostered in early life by our parents, society and our friends and often that mindset we adopt is not conducive to good health. In fact, our mindset<em> (the way we think and process informatio</em>n) can be an obstacle to good health.</p>
<p>Ideally, we would aim to get to the stage where we realise that, “I am not my mind, I am not even my thoughts. I am the observer of my thoughts.” The aim is not to be deceived by the thoughts that are not true and/or negative as they are obstacles to our good health. <h4>The colour red is associated with energy, passion, and life. Psychologically, it may stir the senses, quicken the heartbeat, increase motivation, and evoke feelings of excitement and intensity. Scientifically, red light has also been proven to stimulate the production of adrenaline, enhance energy levels and alertness and therefore improve physical alertness. In medical treatments, red light therapy promotes wound healing and reduces inflammation.</h4>
<p>Foods coloured red include tomatoes, strawberries, and cherries, all of which contain lycopene and anthocyanins. These are antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation and support the cardiovascular system. Beets, a reddish vegetable, are also a source of nitrates. Nitrates can enhance blood flow and lower blood pressure.</p>
<p>In architecture and business decor, red is used in restaurants and retail to stimulate appetite and encourage impulsive buying, creating urgency and excitement.</p>

<p>Psychologists find that orange can enhance social interaction and lift moods. In light therapy, orange is used to combat feelings of fatigue and depression. Orange light therapy is used in the medical field as a treatment for SAD (seasonally acquired depression) simply by just mimicking natural sunlight.</p>
<p>On a physiological level, orange foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, and oranges contain high amounts of beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A. Vitamin A will help maintain good vision, improve immune function, and maintain healthy skin. The peels of citrus fruits contain considerable amounts of vitamin C, which enhances the immune response by protecting the body against infections.</p>
<p>Business&#8217;s use orange in areas where creativity or collaboration is to be developed, to stimulate innovation and create a friendly energetic atmosphere.</p>

<p>Yellow light and surroundings can stimulate the brain and enhance focus, reducing anxiety. In chromotherapy, yellow aids digestion and boosts confidence.</p>
<p>Yellow foods include bananas, pineapples, and corn-all powerhouses of nutrition. Bananas contain potassium, a mineral that keeps muscles and the heart healthy. Pineapples contain the enzyme bromelain, which can aid digestion and reduce inflammation. Corn is a source of lutein, a carotenoid that enables good eyesight.</p>
<p>In design, yellow is used in cafes and co-working spaces to promote cheerfulness and intellectual engagement; it often results in individuals feeling energized and positive.</p>

<p>Green vegetables are packed with chlorophyll, essential for detoxification and healing. They are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and provide folate and magnesium, crucial for bone health, reducing inflammation, and cellular repair. Avocados, high in healthy fats, also nourish the brain.</p>
